IPSAN’s academic programmes increase and new members planned to be admitted

To expand the peace-building activities at local, national, regional, and international levels, and following the Iranian Peace Studies Scientific Association’s extraordinary general meeting held on 18 December 2021 at the House of Humanities Thinkers (Khane-ye Andishmandan-e Ulum-e Ensani), the first and third paragraphs from Article 6 of the Association’s statute was amended and the number of academic disciplines for admission to the association was increased from 9 to 36 disciplines. While the previous statute mentioned the disciplines of political science, international relations, psychology and education, sociology, anthropology, ethnology, law, and related fields, according to the recent amendment, the names of 27 other programmes are added to the list.

 

The newly added disciplines include political geography, women’s studies, management, regional studies, philosophy, logic, theology, physical education and sports sciences, environment, arts, economics, future studies, foreign languages, Persian language and literature, ancient languages, mysticism, religions, history, journalism, social work, anthropology, communication sciences, urban and rural planning, tourism, knowledge and information science, Iranian studies, and medicine in various fields and specialties.

The conditions for admitting new members in these programmes will soon be announced.
