Statement of the Iranian Peace Studies Scientific Association

The Iranian Peace Studies Scientific Association, representing a distinguished collective of scholars, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to the advancement of peace studies, reaffirms its resolute commitment to the principles of constructive dialogue, mutual respect, and the peaceful coexistence of nations.

The Association expresses its profound concern and deep dismay regarding the recent act of military aggression perpetrated by the Israeli regime against the sovereign territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and categorically condemns this unlawful conduct.

This act of aggression represents a flagrant breach of the cardinal principle of state sovereignty, as codified in international law and the Charter of the United Nations. It has gravely undermined regional stability and inflicted significant harm on the normative legal and ethical framework of the international community.

The deliberate targeting and assassination of military and scientific personnel, the intentional destruction of critical national defense infrastructure, and the resultant loss of civilian lives constitute severe violations of international humanitarian law and a direct contravention of the jus cogens norm prohibiting the use of force in inter-state relations.The Iranian Peace Studies Scientific Association maintains that the persistence of such illicit practices not only intensifies regional tensions and perpetuates insecurity but also poses a formidable threat to the prospects of global collective security and the foundational principles of peaceful international coexistence.In response, the Association urgently calls upon the United Nations, its Security Council, and the International Court of Justice to execute their legal mandates and institutional obligations by delivering a resolute, transparent, and efficacious response to these acts of aggression. Such actions are imperative to uphold international peace and security, preserve the integrity of the global legal order, and ensure accountability for violations of international law.
